A Love Poem

The way your dark brown eyes twinkle when the sun lights on them
The way your smile forces mine out of hiding

The things you say
That in every way
Make me pray

You were mine.

You make me warm without a touch.
You alight a fire within me.
The fire burns for you alone.
Your fire could melt a heart of stone.

You are as sweet as strawberries picked ripe in Spring.
As lovely as the lady slippers hidden in the shade.

No need to be afraid my love
Dear lovely one

No man could ask for more
Than one so sincere as you
As kind-hearted
And as brilliant as the sun.
